It’s been said that our external environment often reflects what's going on internally.
I have definitely experienced this when decluttering and cleaning my own space. Transforming a cluttered messy space into one that is orderly and clean can change your mood. The physical act of discarding items that I no longer use and organizing the items I do use, can feel therapeutic.
You might be reading this right now and thinking I’m joking. I assure you I'm not. I challenge you to go through one room in your house and really clean it. Remove any items that don't belong in that room, organize the ones that do in a way that is aesthetically pleasing and deep clean the space. Once you've finished cleaning, take a moment to reflect on how you feel. I bet you feel a little more relaxed, less anxious, and happier than when the room was messy.
For the month of march I will be focusing my blog around de-cluttering, cleaning hacks, and getting rid of the S#%T you no longer use/need in your life. Everything I recommend is either something I’ve tried myself or will soon be applying to my life.
Spring is around the corner (I hope, as its -30 today while I write this) and with it comes spring cleaning and a sense of "new". I want to focus on physically getting rid of clutter, as well as some helpful ways of letting go of attachment to stuff that might be holding us back from clearing the space we need to pursue new things in our lives.
